The alignment of the celestial bodies in the skies gives birth to a total solar Eclipse in Leo, on August 12th, and a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces, on August 28th.
A solar eclipse means a New Moon, while a lunar eclipse speaks of a Full Moon rising. Eclipses have always carried the air of mystery with them. They are potent times where we might view the world differently, even if nothing major has changed. They remind us that darkness is always followed by the light – spiritually, and literally – and that a pause is not an ending.
The New Moon in Leo brings the attention back to our hearts: there we can find inner strength, courage, bravery and resilience. We’ll also dive into love, divine time, alignment and affection. It’s a great time to shower yourself with love and compassion, and to fill your own cup first.
Leo reminds us that this time is not about performing or necessarily being validated from the outside. It gently guides us back to our own selves and invites us to be authentic and let the light that shines from within work its magic for us.
Then two weeks later, the Full Moon in Pisces emerges. Pisces is all about intuition, deeper feelings, the surrender of control, and magic. These two Moons blend their energies so well together, because Leo is driving us back to the inner child and is opening up our hearts, while Pisces that follows is ready to let us experience the magic that exists in this life.
Pisces also has to do with karmic release, and it reminds us that letting go does not have to be loud, flashy, or dramatic. It can just be – deep, profound, yet quiet or gentle too. Many times healing looks like finally being able to drop the weight, to let that thing go, to forgive and to find inner and outer peace.
It’s a great time to let go of the stories you might have been telling yourself – those that are unserving or unhelpful, and prepare your energy to begin writing a new narrative for yourself and life, when Eclipse Season ends.
Because Eclipses are known to rule negativity, you can “beat” that by wearing white, journaling, and listening to music.
Remain grounded, and rooted in the present moment, and observe what is happening in the world within you, during this time. Revisit the past to remember valuable lessons learned, project hope and faith onto the future, and allow yourself plenty of rest during this season.
May you have a magical, wonderful one.
